I started working at 17 — from flipping burgers at McDonald’s, to learning sales, to eventually stepping into security and operations at Securiguard. Along the way, I earned a diploma from KPU, where I learned the theory of business management — and Securiguard taught me the application. I worked my way up from a guard to managing entire sites.

But good wasn’t enough. I took a short break, traveled, and came back with clarity. I enrolled full-time at SFU, starting with Economics — but quickly found myself drawn to the structure and challenge of Mathematics. Economics taught me how people behave under constraints; math taught me how to model and solve for those constraints.

These days, I think about real life like it’s a game theory matrix. I see prisoner’s dilemmas in relationships, Lagrangian multipliers in decision-making, and Cobb-Douglas functions in resource trade-offs. I’m far from mastering pure math — that’s a different dragon — but applied math has become a lens I use to understand the world.

I’m building a career where I can use both — economics and applied math — to help solve complex, real-world problems. Especially in industries like natural resources, where optimization, human behavior, and risk all intersect. If that’s a world you’re working in, I’d love to connect.
